Intentionally dyed, slowly layered, small batch yarns.
House of A La Mode Hand-Dyed Yarn
We dye our yarn in small batches using the same recipes every time, yet each skein is a touch unique on its own. As is the nature of hand-dyed yarn, there will be some slight color variations between skeins. By purchasing multiple skeins and alternating them within your project, you will best remove the potential for possible pooling of any colors.
We have taken great care to represent yarn's true colors. However, all computer monitors and devices have subtle color changes and colors may vary.
For best results, hand wash all pieces created with HoALM yarn in cool water with a mild wool wash. Soak for at least 15 to 20 minutes, squeeze (do not twist) excess water, shape, and lay flat to dry.
Superwash yarn can be laundered in washing machines on the gentlest of settings and turned inside out, however we highly recommend the above method.
Please note that there may be some color bleeding in the first few washes of a finished garment, particularly with super saturated colors. To minimize bleeding, always use cool to cold water with your wool wash. Don't worry if a little color is left in your soak bath. If using multiple colorways, swatch and soak first to determine if they will affect one another.
We only use non-toxic, acid dyes with food grade citric acid (biodegradable and naturally found in food and water) as the setting agent. After the dyes have been fully exhausted, the yarn is rinsed with a mild wool wash and hung to dry.
All HoALM yarn is ethically sourced from museling-free farms, both large and small, in South America. Our supplier is based in the US.
